I grew up around the Camp Hill / Carindale corner, old workers' cottages, post-war brick, the kind of streets where everyone knows the local sparky's name. I started my apprenticeship at 17 working on everything from Bulimba renovations to Wynnum bayside rewires, and I've been on the tools every day since.

Voltech started because I'd been on too many jobs where the homeowner was treated like a transaction. Quotes that were really "guesses", jobs that ran 3× longer than promised, and the rubbish left in the driveway. I figured if I could run a one-man shop the way I'd want one to come to my family's house, fixed pricing, on time, tidy and properly certified, there'd probably be people who'd pay for that. There were. There are.

How we work

Voltech is small on purpose. I'm the licensed electrician on every job, I do the quoting myself, and I answer the phone. There's no call-centre, no rotating crew of contractors, no "the guy we sent today". If you book Voltech, you get John.

I run a Type 1 fully-stocked van, switchboards, RCBOs, smoke alarms, downlights, fans, chargers, so most jobs can be quoted, started and finished the same day without a parts run.

What I do every day

The bread-and-butter of Voltech is switchboard upgrades, smoke alarm installs, and emergency call-outs for power loss and storm damage. On a typical week I'll also do a few EV chargers, run powerpoints in renovations, swap halogens for LED downlights, and install ceiling fans before summer kicks in.

Volt + tech. The volts are the basics, clean, safe, code-compliant electricity flowing into your house. The tech is everything we layer on top: smart switches, EV chargers, solar diversion, surge protection, the whole modern smart-home wiring side. Voltech is built for both, the boring bits done right, and the new bits done future-proof.
